I have long had a fascination with the difference between the flamboyant facade of Brighton’s Regency buildings in contrast with the more seedy and ‘raggle-taggle’ backs of the buildings. In this regard, their dual character is almost human. I emphasize the difference between the “public” street-facing side of the buildings and the darker mews area using a vividly distorted perspective.
