‘The Alibi’ is the name of a former bar once situated in the old building at the bottom left of the painting. It has a new neighbour in the form of a modern block of flats, sailing in like a ship to disrupt the comfort of old certainties. The crane is re-imagined as a giant hammer and invites the viewer to consider both the light and dark elements of what we call progress.

‘Alibi’ forms part of my ‘Dreams’ collection which explores and exaggerates the psychological influence of both built and natural structures on our moods and perceptions.

By distorting and altering both the colour and form of my observations I encourage my viewers to look in a new way at familiar landmarks with a surreal understanding.

This work of art is painted in oil and acrylic on canvas, with dimensions of  750 x 750 x 40 mm, and comes complete with a gorgeous black floating frame that perfectly complements the beauty of the painting. The painting is carefully packed to ensure it arrives without a scratch. Free shipping within the UK.
