Simon Lea Wright
Brighton Artist
Welcome to my online gallery. I’m Simon Lea Wright, a Brighton artist specialising in surreal architectural paintings. My distinct style combines distorted perspectives with iconic Brighton landmarks like the West Pier and The Pavilion, resulting in dreamlike images that capture the imagination. I am also known for my large-scale Brighton murals, which add bold and surreal elements to the city’s landscape and seafront.
Feel free to explore the collection, and if any of my pieces resonate with you, don’t hesitate to contact me directly.

Growing up in an artistic family, my passion for art emerged early. Initially, I pursued architecture in the early 90s but soon shifted to fine art and attended art college. While studying at Southampton, I developed a love for blending perspective geometry with abstract expressionism. This led to the evolution of my unique surrealist style, influenced by The sights and captivating Brighton sea front
n 2022, I became a finalist in The Visual Artists Open Competition (London, Uk.), selected from over 2,000 applicants, for my surreal painting Clifton Crossing.
I have also created numerous Brighton murals, including a prominent mural at Pier Pressure, one of the UK’s leading escape room venues. Until recently, my paintings were represented by Art 5 Gallery in Brighton’s South Laine. With its closure, I’m currently seeking new local representation.
Throughout my career, I have completed many commissioned paintings and murals. My work is featured in collections both nationally and internationally, and my prints and cards are sold in venues such as the Royal Pavilion Gift Shop and across the South Downs.
One of my most notable pieces, Pavilion Peace, combines Brighton Pavilion with the iconic Brighton Peace Statue, against a back drop of Brighton Beachcreating a captivating blend of architecture and symbolism.
As a Brighton artist, my work extends beyond the canvas into the public realm, with murals featured in various prominent locations throughout the city. Each mural I create reflects the vibrant energy of Brighton, adding a surreal and imaginative touch to its public spaces. Whether for businesses, community spaces, or private collections, my murals are a unique addition to the Brighton artistic landscape.
